Nutrition
Evaluating diet is important to ensure that the essential nutrients are being incorporated into everyday foods. I will help you look at your diet to see where improvements can be made and help you set realistic goals. Nutrition will be the cornerstone of your naturopathic treatment plan because I strongly believe in “food as medicine”!
Acupuncture
Western and Eastern methods of acupuncture differ in clinical application but as a naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist, I am trained to do both! Western acupuncture is beneficial for musculoskeletal concerns such as muscle tightness whereas Eastern acupuncture can be utilized to address local and systemic concerns.
Intravenous Vitamin therapy
Through intravenous vitamin (IV) therapy, I am licensed to administer vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients directly into the bloodstream. This can be helpful in individuals who are experiencing poor digestion or those who are recommended high doses of vitamins that can't be administered any other way
Traditional Chinese Medicine
This system of medicine uses the traditional Chinese perspective of health and disease. The yin/yang theory is based on balance of a spectrum. Imbalances which cause teetering towards either sides of the spectrum causes specific patterns of illness.
Botanical Medicine
Many of today’s pharmaceuticals have been derived or inspired from plant pharmacology. I have been trained to recognize herb-drug or herb-nutrient interactions and will recommend the most appropriate botanicals fitted to your concerns and your individual case. This is one of my favourite modalities because there can be dramatic effects with small doses (not to mention there is growing research in this field as well!)
Laboratory Testing
As a naturopathic doctor, I am able to order and interpret lab tests including routine bloodwork, urine tests, food sensitivity tests, comprehensive stool analyses, and many more. Laboratory testing is a useful tool to help guide treatment and gain insight to your symptoms.
